Areneros - sandboard

Going flat out in the desert, on buggies, and sand boarding in Paracas

Is a desert full of fun moulded by the strong winds

Imaginary roads with up to five buggies racing down them with more than a hundred dunes with sharp ridges and deep valleys. The cars are long, wide and low, the motors are placed at the back and the centre of gravity is low enough that it can’t flip over, and the steep slopes get your adrenalin pumping through your veins. At the top of the hills there are perfect spots for sand boarding, you slide down the dunes at breath taking speeds.
It exceeded our expectations, it was an adrenaline rush! It’s a fun and exciting experience to sprint through the dunes just like in the Dakar Rally. It wasn’t chosen for nothing, it was chosen to host the Dakar competition in the summer of 2012, the toughest and best dunes because of the quality and quantity of them, from what we were told by the Catalan champion Nani Roma, who we had the pleasure of meeting during his stay in Paracas from the Dakar hosted there.
The Park opens every day at 8am and closes at 5pm. They offer to pick you up anywhere in Paracas, Pisco or Ica. The average time to get to the park from Paracas is around 15 minutes, which includes pick up and drop offs, with the entry fee of S/.95 per person. We recommend that you go during the afternoons to be able to enjoy the beautiful sunset. Make sure you take helmets, sunscreen and a bottle of water.
